We’re relationship managers, tech leads, first responders, executives, and more—but we’re also real people (who are really fun to work with). Meet some of the people who make IronEdge happen and learn more about who we are and what we do all day. For our January 2018 Spotlight, meet Chase Rawlinson.

1. What is your role at IronEdge?
My current role at IronEdge Group is a First Responder. I am responsible for ensuring our client’s daily needs are not only met, but exceeded with utmost satisfaction. Client interaction is my pride and joy. I have recently accepted a promotion to become a Field Technician on the Professional Services team in San Antonio, and could not be more excited!

2. Where did you grow up?
With my mother being a Navy brat, she was dragged all over the country until her family eventually settled down in Texas. My father would meet my mother years later in a small Southeast-Texas town called Beaumont; This would come to be the city I was born & raised in, alongside my 2 older brothers.

3. Did you go to college? What was your major? Did you get a degree?
Fortunately no, I was lucky enough to circumvent the life of debt & got into the IT world at an early age. However, I would love to one day obtain a degree in Computer Science.

4. How did you come to work at IronEdge?
I was referred via a friend. After passing the interview process, I made the move to Houston & have called it home ever since!

5. What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
I’m an avid music fan, so listening & producing different varieties of music has always been my passion. Recently, hip-hop production has struck a particular chord with me & I am really enjoying learning all of the aspects of the genre. I also tend to be community oriented, so I can always be found spending time with family or friends whenever I can.

6. What might (someone) be surprised to know about you? Do you have a hidden talent?
I don’t know if I’d consider it a talent, but I was the vocalist of a metal band for a large portion of my life… Luckily, those days are behind me now.

7. Do you have a favorite newspaper, blog, technology resource?
As many of my colleagues already know, I am a huge fan of Reddit. I typically rely on a variety of online news sources, but Reddit centralizes most of my favorite topics/sources so that there’s a little less digging.

8. Do you have any pets?
I’ve got both a dog & cat back home with my parents, but none currently. I’d like to adopt a dog within the next year or so!

9. What’s on your bucket list?
I’d like to build my own Tiny Home & learn to become as self-sufficient as humanly possible.

10. What do you like most about your job at IronEdge?
Without a doubt, the culture. The knowledge & memories I have gained at IronEdge will stick with me for life, but above all else, so will the friendships. IronEdge goes above and beyond to show they care about you & your future, whilst instilling value in your daily work ethic.

11. Is there something that you think of as your first memory or something that stands out from when you started at IronEdge?
Starting with no IT background, I was very worried that I was in over my head. IronEdge did everything they could to reassure me that I had what it took & offered any help I needed along the way. Within my first few weeks at IronEdge, I already felt like a valued member of the team.
