Client Spotlight: APG&E

APG&E has been a client of ours since 2019, and their innovative and responsive culture has stood out from the very start of our partnership. We had the pleasure of speaking with Stephanie Rau, VP of Customer Experience at APG&E. Stephanie has over a decade of experience in retail energy, and her passion formaking the lives of her customers easier is very apparent and infectious. Her favorite thing about APG&E is their culture where “everyone is willing to sweep the floors” which shines throughout the organization.
We were excited to sit down with Stephanie and learn more about how APG&E’s operations have shifted throughout the pandemic. while they were able to continue to ensure that their customers were provided essential services

WORKING THROUGH COVID-19

Fortunately, APG&E has invested heavily in technology over the last few years so they were already set up for working remotely! They use tools such as Slack and VPN to continue everyday operations, and ensure that employees are able to access the what they need. The leadership team holds weekly “stand up” meetings to provide updates and answer any questions. APG&E has been able to stay connected with employees, partners, and customers via video conferencing and have been able to offer support during a difficult time.They are proud that they have been able to operate at 100% capacity and continue to provide much needed services to their customers.  

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

APG&E has also been proactive in the community by donating 58.2 terraflops of computing space to Folding@home to help facilitate the search for a COVID-19 vaccine! Folding@home (FAH or F@h) is a distributed computing project for simulating protein dynamics, including the process of protein folding and the movements of proteins implicated in a variety of diseases. It brings together citizen scientists who volunteer to run simulations of protein dynamics on their personal computers. Insights from this data are helping scientists to better understand biology while providing new opportunities for developing therapeutics.
