Relocation of Corporate Office
- Plan and execute scalable, efficient network infrastructure in conjunction with other constants and contractors
- Complete project within time and budget constraints with negligible interruption of daily operations
In 2014, South Texas Money Management, a financial investment advisory firm, relocated their corporate headquarters from Olmos Park to downtown San Antonio. Leveraging their experience with the financial industry and cradle-to-grave approach to IT projects, IronEdge Group was contracted by South Texas Money Management to oversee the relocation during the preliminary planning stages. IronEdge Group played a role in planning office and furniture layout, low-volt design, electrical requirements, environmental considerations and new equipment solutions.
The project team adjusted the design plans to meet the operational needs of the client and, in turn, saved costs by reducing over-engineered electrical and low volt designs.
“They were an essential piece from the beginning build out all the way to the end of project when we finished our move.” Alyssa Torres | IT Director, South Texas Money Management
During the execution of the project IronEdge Group worked closely with 3rd party architects, construction engineers, and contractors to ensure the relocation was on schedule and within budget. To prevent an interruption of daily operations, IronEdge Group worked with internet and telephone providers to complete the move outside of normal business hours. As part of the comprehensive project execution, IronEdge Group would directly address any issues and resolved them without the involvement of the client.
IronEdge Group was able to streamline South Texas Money Management’s network with the addition of new equipment, including firewalls, switches and access points. By transitioning to the advanced cloud based network equipment by Cisco Meraki, South Texas Money Management now has a higher level of insight into the health and utilization of their network environment.
Results and Benefits
As a result of their collaboration, IronEdge Group was able to provide South Texas Money Management with a scaleable, secure network that meets the organizational needs, with room for future growth. By utilizing Cisco Meraki solutions throughout the network, South Texas Money Management is able to evaluate bandwidth usage and adjust the priority of services to meet their needs. Through added security and continued updates, South Texas Money Managements’ users and data will remain safe and within regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle of their solution. South Texas Money Managements’ low volt infrastructure consolidated their main distribution frame, resulting in the simplification of the topology of their network and eliminated aging equipment. Moving their phones infrastructure to standard CAT6 cabling allowed for flexibility with phone extension changes and future options for VoIP.
Our move in February was seamless which we attribute to the services provided by the IronEdge team and their ManagedMOVE service.” -Danny Aleman
