Sales Associate

Sales Associates are responsible for increasing IronEdge sales, revenue, and profitability. They establish and maintain profitable relationships with customers on behalf of IEG as well as actively prospect and pursue new business opportunities. They manage and maintain a prospect and opportunity pipeline to achieve annual sales targets and other performance metrics in the corporate CRM and are responsible for keeping all data current and accurate. They will be managed and measured on their ability to achieve their targets by consistently performing the required daily activities to build a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.

As IronEdge Group’s primary external representative, the Sales Associate must convey an understanding of IronEdge Group’s capabilities, core competencies, and corporate culture to our customers. This role requires talent to actively identify and pursue leads, as well as potential customers who routinely purchase our products and services. They must be capable of presenting the benefits of IEG to potential customers. In this role, you must be able to prospect for short and long-term opportunities requiring technical solutions, services or other requirements leading to the sale of IT products and services.

Sales Associates will make frequent and consistent sales calls on customers and prospects and establish and develop buying relationships with appropriate decision makers. Once a lead has been identified, pre-qualify potential clients as a legitimate sales opportunity for IEG based on the technical requirements, decision makers, and budget. Sales Associates coordinate the pursuit of the opportunity with the appropriate internal resources such as estimating and engineering, proposals, contracts, and purchasing.

Essential Functions

  • Establish and maintain profitable relationships with customers and on behalf of IEG
  • Actively prospect and pursue new business opportunities
  • Serve as a technical and value leader on business development opportunities and influence the customer throughout their decision-making process to ensure the close of sale and a positive partnership experience
  • Responsible for the timely coordination, development, and delivery of bids as well as other information to the customer
  • Lead the effort to develop bids and quotes along with any required supporting documentation
  • Active phone calling for lead generation on a daily basis
  • Ability to network in person at events and trade shows to develop new leads and business contacts
  • Outside sales lead generation efforts such as canvassing are required

Technical Requirements

  • College Degree or Minimum of two years of sales experience in outside sales selling services and products
  • Strong selling, presentation, and closing skills with the passion and proven ability to prospect and close business
  • Self-starter and a problem solver
  • Work collaboratively with other IEG personnel to review specifications, develop technical solutions, and costs estimates
