Honey Badger Bourbon Cherries
This recipe is perfect for cocktail garnish cherries, but can be used as an ice cream topping. If using fresh cherries, they can be cooked in the mixture for a few minutes to soften if desired. Mixture will stay good in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
1 lb of pitted, unstemmed sweet cherries (fresh is preferred, but frozen will work)
1 cup Jack Daniels Honey Bourbon
1/2 cup honey
1 cinnamon stick
1 orange peel
1 tbsp vanilla
2 pint sized mason jars
Directions:
1. Separate cherries into two clean 1 pint mason jars.
2. In a medium saucepan combine water, honey and vanilla over a medium heat and mix.
3. Bring mixture to a simmer and add orange stem and cinnamon stick.
4. Simmer mixture while stirring for 10 min.
5. Remove from heat and add bourbon slowly, stirring to ensure proper mixture.
6. Strain mixture over cherry filled mason jars with removing orange peel, cinnamon stick and debris.
7. Allow jars and mixture to cool to room temperature.
8. Once cooled, put lids on jars and set in refrigerator for 3 days.
Perfect Honey Badger Manhattan
A Perfect Manhattan consists of both sweet and dry vermouth. As with most things in life, you get back what you put in. the same is true for drinks. Use ONLY Carpano Antica and Bianco vermouths or your Manhattan will taste terrible. Do not SHAKE. This drink should not be served cloudy. Stir a Manhattan, always. You can use any brand of bourbon cherries, but making your own Honey Badger cherries is always more rewarding.
Ingredients:
2 oz Premium Rye Whiskey
1/2 oz Carpano Antica Formula 1786 Sweet Vermouth
1/2 oz Carpano Bianco Dry Vermouth
2 Dashes Augostura Bitters
Honey Badger (Bourbon) Cherries
Directions:
1. Fill martini glass or high ball glass with ice and water, set aside 3 min to chill.
2. Add all ingredients except the cherries to a wide mouthed cup with ice.
3. Stir continually for 30 – 60 seconds until drink is cold and completely mixed.
4. Discard ice and water from martini or high ball glass.
5. Strain cocktail into glass.
6. Garnish with Honey Badger Cherries.
Olive Butter Martini
This is a twist on the classic dirty martini and provides a buttery, olive flavor that is perfect for any occasion. This is a shaken martini as the clarity of the drink is not critical and it is essential that the oil mix well with the vodka. Use only Carpano Bianco Dry Vermouth. All other vermouth is terrible and will make your drink taste awful.
Ingredients:
2 oz Premium Vodka (Belvedere or Crystal Skull)
1/2 oz Carpano Bianco Dry Vermouth
1/2 oz Castelvetrano Olive Juice/Brine
1/4 tsp Olive Oil
3 -5 Castelvetrano Olives
Directions:
1. Fill martini glass with water and ice, set aside 3 min to chill.
2. Add ice to bar shaker.
3. Add all ingredients except for the olives. Olives should be used as garnish.
4. Shake for 30 -60 seconds until drink is thoroughly mixed and cold.
5. Dump ice water from glass.
6. Strain drink into glass and garnish with olives.
